I remember as a youth, during harvest time, there were many country (farm) women working hard in the fields beside the men. For most of them, when the sun went down and they returned home from the field, their day’s work had just begun.
They had to continue their day with their wifely duties, getting supper for the family and making sure the kids had clean clothes for the next day, etc., etc. They mothered the younger ones, and after father had gone to bed, they finally got to rest as well. I have often heard the saying that “a woman’s work is never done,” and having watched my mother as a youngster, I believed it. Prior to the Second World War years, the majority of city women were primarily housewives. During the war, while so many men were serving in one branch of the service or another, there were not enough male laborers to build planes and other war machines etc. to supply our troops. So women were recruited and many did what was considered, “men’s work,” i.e. welding, riveting, etc. during the course of the war. I believe that was the catalyst that began the trend for the majority of women to work outside the home. In today’s world, women make up a large portion of the work force and do many of the same things that men do. Both in work and in sports, etc., women are becoming more and more competitive with men, doing many things as well or better. The division of labor is much less pronounced now than when I was a youth.
The idea of a “division of labor” based on gender was started in the garden of Eden. It was part of the Father’s instruction. I’m confident that in the beginning our Father knew there would be modifications to His original instruction. We can even call it evolution—evolution in the way both men and women related to one another. That word, evolution, in many circles, has a negative connotation. It is obvious to many of us that we have evolved in many ways but not from lizards to man or some other far-fetched idea. Rather, we have evolved in the way we live and interact with one another. In fact, you might say that was His plan all along. His plan is referred to as the Plan of Salvation, another name is the Plan of Happiness. There is even another name for His plan and that is the Plan of Progression. When we are honest in defining our words, we have to admit that progression can be and is often interchanged with the word evolved or evolving.
The scriptural story goes something like this: “In the beginning” God the Father first created Adam, or man, and then figuratively or otherwise He created Eve from Adam’s “rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, ‘This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh,’ she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.” (But two different and distinct genders.) …“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: …But “Of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, for in the day thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die….And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die…your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as the gods, knowing good and evil…she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat…. Adam was told that because of his transgression…cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread,” and “Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband…And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the ‘mother of all living’….Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.” (from Genesis 1, 2, & 3) Here the division was described clearly, as Adam was to till the ground as the breadwinner, and Eve was to raise and care for the family with all that that entails.
Adam and Eve experienced a spiritual death as they were no longer in the Father’s presence. Father’s instruction was that in the day they should partake of the forbidden fruit, they should surely die. He, in fact, meant that they would die in a physical sense as well. For a day, where earth was at that time was in the same place where Our Father dwells. One day in His world is as a 1,000 years according to the earth’s reckoning. Adam lived nearly 900 years. Therefore, Adam and Eve did, in fact, die both a spiritual and a mortal death within a day based on His reckoning in that time and place. After the serpent deceived the woman by saying unto her, “Ye shall not surely die,” his work of deception was far from finished. For his work, according to the Father’s plan, was just beginning. Satan’s hope was to foil the Father’s plan for His children by deception and accusation. He is best known by both of those names: the great deceiver and the accuser.
Not only are there gender differences in terms of division of labor, but there is a growing division between those who are Christian and those who believe Christian beliefs are fantasy. They try to prevent people from doing what they are naturally inclined to do, whether it be in line with the Father’s commands.
I grew up in a small town in the western United States and I was mostly ignorant of the terms homosexual, bisexual and lesbian. It wasn’t until I was in the military when the term “homo” was used as a way to put someone down. My army experience was mostly in the San Francisco area, and by the end of my two year term of service, I was very much aware of those terms. They were already openly accepted there. After reading the Bible as a young man, I realized that the men of Sodom were homosexual, and then I realized that the practice of homosexuality is obviously as old as sin. Homosexual, lesbian and bisexual practices are now openly practiced as if they were a natural way of life. It was a shameful and hidden thing in our society just a few short decades ago. They were closeted. Now there is such a powerful lobby with their huge financial support that they are starting to have control over many facets of our society.
The following article recently appeared in a local newspaper. The article was titled: “School System Votes to Teach Students to Determine Their Own Gender”
“One of the nation’s largest public school systems is preparing to include gender identity to its classroom curriculum, including lessons on sexual fluidity and spectrum—the idea that there’s no such thing as 100 percent boys or 100 percent girls. Fairfax County Public Schools released a report recommending changes to their family life curriculum for grades 7 through 12. The changes, which critics call radical gender ideology, will be formally introduced next week. “The larger picture is this is really an attack on nature itself—the created order,” said Peter Sprigg of the Family Research Council. “Human beings are created male and female. But the current transgender ideology goes way beyond that. They’re telling us you can be both genders, you can be no gender, you can be a gender that you make up for yourself. And we’re supposed to affirm all of it.”
There is another similar situation in British Columbia where the Human Rights Tribunal in British Columbia is considering completely eliminating gender designations from birth certificates in response to complaints from the Trans Alliance Society (TAS) and other transgender individuals, according to an article in the National Post.
Satan, the accuser, working through supporters of the program, will make anyone that opposes that plan appear to be old fashioned and ignorant of the truth. Their truth! To those of faith, the concept is evil, to allow a public school district to introduce young children to the idea that we are interchangeable sexually is going too far. Hopefully, the Christian lobby will be strong enough and courageous enough to stop the program from getting off the ground or pull their children out of the system. Hitler stated, “He alone, who owns the youth, gains the future.” The premise is simple: the one who is allowed to mold and shape the thinking of the children of a given society will rule that society in the future. It will be the ideas planted in the minds of children that will rule the day.” This lesson, though taught to us many times through the twentieth century, has been ignored or forgotten.
We have evolved in terms of gender bias in regards to work, but hopefully there will be a limit to the evolution of gender merging.
That kind of evolution is promoted by the great accuser.
